Many of Studio Innova's projects are initiated in-house without a specific client. Although the approach carries a high degree of risk, it allows time to research and understand the key issues without the pressures of market deadlines. As development moves forward, the partners either incubate a new company or locate a manufacturer that is suited to the product’s potential.
One entrepreneurial project, the Actar 911 CPR manikin evolved into a successful company with exports to 20 countries. The fledgling company quickly outgrew the resources of the Studio and it was eventually sold to a Vital Signs Inc. (NJ). Studio Innova remained as a consultant for future Actar projects.
